Medical Transcription - Part Time
As a graduate from our Medical Transcription program, you will be trained in one of the best medical transcription courses available in North America. MTI’s on-line interactive self-paced program was developed by Career Step in 1992 and the key to this program is the quality training you will receive.
Your studies will include focused training in three basic skill requirements – keyboarding, grammar and punctuation, and medical terminology. Most importantly you will gain the extensive “hands-on” practice to give you the experience you need to get hired.
Your program will train you to create hard copy documents from doctors’ dictated reports. You will master the skill of translating oral dictation into detailed patient records. Successful completion of your program will allow you to work in hospitals, medical clinics, medical labs, doctor’s offices or from your home. Medical Transcription was ranked as one of the top ten home based businesses in Business Start-Ups and Good Housekeeping Magazines. You are choosing a career in a stable career field and where the demand for medical transcription is increasing due to the aging population in North America.
Upon successful completion of your program you will receive certificates from both MTI Community College and Career Step. Students will be required to dedicate 16 hours per week to their studies in order to complete the course components of the program in 1 year.
Students are responsible for having a computer at home with high speed internet access to complete this program.
