Hospitality Management
The world of Hospitality is a fast growing industry full of exciting opportunities for graduates of this Diploma program. The Hospitality industry consists of lodging and food and beverage operations and this program will prepare you to work in any of these settings. The purpose of this program is to prepare graduates to succeed in a wide variety of areas within the Hospitality industry. With the city of Vancouver hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, there will be increasing demand for hospitality employees. The hospitality industry is British Columbia’s number one employer and the projected growth to 2010 is an anticipated 34,000 additional jobs. Graduates in the Hospitality Management Diploma Program will receive certification from the prestigious Educational Institute of American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA). MTI further enhances your training with a hands-on practicum.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or 19 years of age, Entrance Assessment, Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check
DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS:
Overall Average of 70%. Must pass every course in the program by the minimum required mark of 60%.

MTI has small class sizes
Hospitality Management requires detailed understanding of concepts and ideas that currently impact the industry. The small class sizes allow time for the students to learn from the real-life experiences of the instructor as well as the relevant reading materials. Students are also encouraged to spend one-on-one time with the instructor during lab time to maximize the learning process.
AHLA Certification
Students participate in an intense learning program that covers all aspects of hotel management as prepared by the American Hotel and Lodging Association curriculum. Students receive a certificate from AHLA for each course completed.
World wide recognition
A certification from the AHLA Program is recognized around the world as one of the most complete programs available in the field.
Program Length
The accelerated program allows students to complete the program in a timely manner and quickly transition their new knowledge and skills to the work environment.
Progress Evaluation
Students participate in a weekly consultation with the instructor to encourage their progress, address any issues and discuss the topics being covered.
Practicum experiences are arranged by MTI
MTI students do not have to use their valuable time looking for a practicum. MTI practicum facilitators set up and monitor the practicum experience for students.
Employment Opportunities
Students find employment in a variety of hospitality settings including hotel front desks, housekeeping services, food and beverage services, bellhop services and other areas within the hospitality industry. MTI graduates have been hired in many countries of the world. With experience graduates can transition into management roles within the industry.
