Restaurant Management

As a Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operations of a restaurant and other establishments that prepare and serve meals and beverages to customers. You will oversee the kitchen, dining room and banquet operations, and maintain positive customer relations. Inventory control, food and supply ordering and the general maintenance and repair of the restaurant will also be your responsibility. In this program you will study a range of areas that will prepare you for these responsibilities including accounting, food and beverage controls, and supervisory skills. With the city of Vancouver hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, there will be increasing demand for employees in the restaurant industry. The hospitality industry is British Columbia’s number one employer and the projected growth to 2010 is an anticipated 34,000 additional jobs. To benefit from these career opportunities you need to start your training and career now. This 1 year Certificate in Restaurant Management is offered through computer based training with students completing 10 courses for graduation.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 or 19 years of age, Entrance Assessment.

DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS:

Overall Average of 70%. Must pass every course in the program by the minimum required mark of 60%.

**All classes are afternoon classes. Students may have to come some morning hours if they are behind on their program schedule.**
