Hotel Operations - Part Time
The world of Hotel Operations is a fast growing career opportunity full of exciting opportunities for graduates of this Certificate program. In this program you will study a range of areas within the hotel industry including front desk and housekeeping operations, hotel sales and marketing, and hotel accounting. With the city of Vancouver hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, there will be increasing demand for employees in the hotel industry. The hospitality industry is British Columbia’s number one employer and the projected growth to 2010 is an anticipated 34,000 additional jobs. To benefit from these career opportunities you need to start your training and career now. This Certificate in Hotel Operations is offered part time through computer based training with students completing 10 courses for graduation. A minimum of 12 hours per week is required to complete this program in 1 year and 8 months.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or 19 years of age, Entrance Assessment.
DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS:
Overall Average of 70%. Must pass every course in the program by the minimum required mark of 60%.

MTI has small class sizes
The small class sizes allow time for the students to learn from the real-life experiences of the instructor as well as the relevant reading materials. Students are also encouraged to spend one-on-one time with the instructor during lab time to maximize the learning process.
AHLA Certification
Students participate in an intense learning program that covers the basics of hotel operations through the American Hotel and Lodging Association curriculum. Students receive a certificate from AHLA for each course completed.
